LIBRARY TOUR

Welcome to the UES library media center

Mrs. Mary D'Eliso, School Media Specialist

In the MAIN PART OF THE LIBRARY, the collection is divided into fiction
and non-fiction. The fiction books line the north walls, and are filed
in order by the author's last name. Look for signs at the top of the
shelf to find your author. The non-fiction books are placed in subject
order using the Dewey decimal system. Use the computer catalog, the
pictures on the ends of the shelves, the popular subjects page, or the
librarian to help you find the books you need.

The nonfiction section has lots of great biographies, books on cartooning, poetry, and much more.

Helping each other find some nonfiction books...we have lots of materials in foreign languages as well.

Students work with the encyclopedias in the reference area.

The library has plenty of room to spread out to do research and activities,
or just to come hang out and read.

Several computers are available in the media center for browsing the library
catalog or just searching online

The UES Library has a great selection of materials related to Indiana (and other states)

The Family Materials area has lots of great educational games and
activities that families, students, or teachers can check out of the
library at any time

Mrs. Kris Walsh is our library assistant - say "hello!"

The UES Library has lots of resources for teachers, including educational magazines, curriculum planning books, and lots more

First graders ready to check out...waiting patiently!

Our clocks show the time in Bloomington and all over the world! We are
truly an international school and want to be sure everyone knows what
time it is in his/her "home" country

Just underneath the clocks, a large selection of magazines can be found -
yes, you can check these out too.

Also underneath the clocks is the "series" chapter book area - where
you can find everything from the American Girl series to Cam Jansen
Mysteries or Magic School Bus stories.

The UES Library has a large selection of Holiday books,
all shelved in one area for easy access.

Inside the story room - you'll find picture books and beginning
readers. The picture books have an "E" on their spines, and the
beginning readers have "ER" on their spines.

Just outside the story room, the large FICTION collection begins...

The fiction books keep going...

More fiction books...and the entrance to "the secret garden," an outdoor courtyard garden maintained by UES students
